What are the signs of worn brake pads?
Common signs include a squealing or grinding noise when braking, reduced stopping power, a longer braking distance or a brake warning light on your dashboard. You may also notice a vibration through the steering wheel or a spongy brake pedal. It’s best to have your brakes inspected as soon as you notice any of these signs, as worn pads can damage other parts of the braking system and compromise your safety.
How often should brakes be serviced?
Brake servicing frequency depends on driving habits, vehicle type and conditions. On average, brake pads may need replacement every 40,000 to 70,000 km, while rotors can last longer. However, regular inspections—typically every 6-12 months or during major services—are recommended to catch wear early. Fluid flushes are usually required every two years. What causes a clutch to slip?
Clutch slippage happens when the clutch plate no longer fully engages with the flywheel.
